Tonight I received news from Cherokee Recreation and Parks Authority (CRPA) that they have approved the construction of new boards, surface, and real bathrooms for our rink. A construction date has not been set yet but the target is for summer 2013 in-between our Spring and Fall seasons.
This is very big news for all of us as our #2 goal when we started CHILL was to raise money to replace our aging rink so our children would have a safe and competitive environment to play on. Thanks to CRPA we no longer have to worry about raising the funds to do this and can instead invest that money back into the league to continue our goal of making hockey accessible and affordable for all children and familys interested in playing.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this dream come true from the players to all the volunteers without you this would not have been possible.
