As a non-profit organization we depend on volunteers to make things work. We are looking for a few people to help volunteer this spring season. There are multiple areas that we need your help. If you are interested in more information about any of the following, OR you would be able to volunteer for any of these positions, please email me ASAP (email@example.com). We know time is very valuable for everyone and getting players and other family members where they need to be sometimes requires additional planning. But as we continue to grow, we need more people to help with the volunteer efforts. Thank you for your help and consideration.
With any of these positions, multiple people is always welcome and necessary so that no 1 person has ALL the responsibility.
Equipment Coordinator – would help organize the equipment shed. Would need to be in attendance at least 30-45 minutes prior to games or practice to loan out any necessary equipment and available after games or practices to collect any loaned equipment, disinfect it and return it to proper bins. Would help in coordinating an equipment swap at the beginning of the season for people to bring outgrown or unused equipment to swap out for needed equipment.
Coaches – Need to be prompt and present at a minimum 75% of practices and games. Coaches should arrive at least 30 minutes before any scheduled practice or game. He or She need to help organize team practices and coordinate game rosters. They must demonstrate the model of good sportsmanship and fair play. He or She understands that this is recreational hockey and that ALL players should get similar playing time. Anyone over 18 years old that is interested in coaching must complete a Cherokee County Background Check prior to coaching any practices or games. Volunteer coaches must have a valid AAU Non-Athlete membership and also must present a certificate of completion for Positive Coaching : Double-Goal Coach Level I & II. Head coaches must be at least 18 years old. Assistant coaches may be at least 14 years old.
Concession Stand Volunteer - would work in the concession stand as needed and determined by the Concession Stand Coordinator. It would be helpful to get people to volunteer for this position when their player is not playing in a game.
Rink Crew Coordinator- would volunteer to be at or coordinate another volunteer to be each practice or game and clean the rink surface of any debris or moisture. During rain delays, would be able to arrive 45mins early to prepare the rink for games or practices.
Score Table Operator and Statistician- Once games begin we will need a few people that can be taught how to properly set up and run the score clock, as well as people that can keep record of statistics during the game. These are simple and necessary tasks that keep our players happy.
